Validation Engineer – Andover - Salary: up to £52,000 DOE
On behalf of our client based in Andover, we are looking for a talented Validation Engineer to be part of a dynamic team. The Validation Engineer will be responsible for all electric machines design and applications for electric vehicles and industrial solution.
Main Duties of the Validation Engineer:
- Perform testing across analysis domains
- Validate & correlate e-motor models with test data to continually improve accuracy of simulation methods and focus on developing new analysis capabilities/processes
- Responsible for analysis, and testing of electric motors for electric traction drives (voltage < 1000V, current < 900A) for eDrive applications
- Responsible for analysis, and testing of electric motors for industrial application (voltage < 400V, current < 100A)
- Coordination of technical interfaces for the eMotor components, drive and gearbox
- Work closely with customers and partners for all aspects of eMotor vehicle application and testing
- Utilise LabVIEW software to set up data acquisition systems, collect real-time data during tests, and analyse results
- Create and optimize test procedures, protocols, and test plans to ensure accurate and repeatable testing processes
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering required, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar preferred
- Basic knowledge of the design of electrical machines required
- Good understanding in the field of power electronics and electric drive technology
- High level of analytical ability, understand of engineering theory and principles of design
- Experience in LabVIEW
- Experience with design, simulation and requirements management tools (e.G. CATIA V5, PTC Integrity, DOORS, Matlab / Simulink)
- Good understanding in the field of power electronics and electric drive technology
- Ideally 5 years’ experience in the following: Data Acquisition, concept of electric motor design required (college co-ops/internships of experience sufficient)
