Sad (and happy) times at The Work Shop this month ☹
We are losing our absolute STAR Candidate Consultant May Coyle at the end of June, but we wish her all the best for her exciting new adventure!
Our Operations Manager, Georgina Bayless recruited May:
“May is moving up to London to pursue her career. When she finds her new role, I know that she will be a valuable asset to the company she decides to join, due to her incredibly hard work ethic, natural positivity and hunger to learn and grow.
May came to us initially in November as a temp, having previously only worked in hospitality and retail. We recognised her fantastic communication skills and initiative and offered her the Candidate Consultant role.
She immediately added value on her first day! Working with our Senior Consultants, May helped to resource various roles across different sectors – she’s great when talking to candidates, very patient and is quick to establish their job needs.
We asked her to stay on for a while, but knew that her plan wasn’t to settle here long term. Now following her dream, we are so happy to have supported her with some valuable office-based experience and I am personally excited to follow the next steps in her career – I’m sure she’ll do well!
I recognise that many companies want to hire people for their business with some assurance that they will stay with them for a long period of time, however, May has been such as asset to our business for the short time she has been with us. I wouldn’t hesitate to employ someone again who wasn’t 100% sure which direction they wanted to go – and as long as both parties are open and honest and regularly communicate with each other, it can be incredibly beneficial on both sides.
