A little about Sophie…
Hello! I’m a Candidate Consultant here at The Work Shop. I have not long started in my recruitment career but I’m definitely enjoying it so far. Prior to working within recruitment, I had been in hospitality for years ending in a management position.
How (& why) did you get into recruitment?
After being in hospitality for such a long time, I had decided it was time for a change. The longer hours and late night weren’t enjoyable anymore! I decided I wanted to progress my career into an office environment. I was actually contacted by The Work Shop about another role, but ultimately ended up interviewing with them for my current role! It has been an amazing opportunity.
What does your day-to-day role entail?
As a Candidate Consultant a big part of my role is to find the right candidates for the jobs we are recruiting for. I will be scrolling the job boards or our database and making calls consistently to find the right person for it! Sometimes you could also find me taking candidates through the screening and interviewing processes.
What do you like best about recruitment?
I am a big people person so I would say being able to speak with so many different people at all levels is my favourite part. It’s such a good feeling when you find someone who is a perfect fit for the role.
And not work related… Who is the most famous person you’ve ever met?
I have never actually met anyone famous, but I have been to plenty of concerts and festivals. I am always front row within arms reach of the stage! One time I was even eating lunch a couple tables away from one of the performing DJs
