The Work Shop are delighted to be recruiting for a Plastic Fabricator for a well-established company based in a rural location based on the outskirts of Romsey.
The Plastic Fabricator will undertake a skilled engineering role to achieve a quality end product by learning all aspects of thermoplastic welding and jointing techniques. Our client offers up to £14.00 per hour dependant on experience and the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to develop their skills.
Main duties of the Plastic Fabricator
• Construct plastic pipe assemblies, tanks, and vessels based on engineering drawings.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and production work orders.
• Create and utilise templates and jigs for fabrication.
• Fabricate, assemble, reshape, rework, and repair plastic products.
• Mark out sheets and pipes using measuring and marking instruments.
• Use various cutting, drilling, and bending tools to construct pipe spools, tanks, and vessels.
• Employ plastic welding equipment and techniques to manufacture and assemble components.
Key competences of the Plastic Fabricator
• Apprenticeship in an engineering discipline or have achieved a relevant level 2 or 3 engineering qualification
• Understand plastics and bonding techniques using specialist precision and hand tools and equipment
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Manual dexterity and good eyesight are essential
• Accurate and methodical approach with a mechanical aptitude
• Owner Car/ motor bike driver is essential due to location.
Experience and awareness of working with the following tools would be advantageous:
• Thermoplastic welding and jointing equipment
• Hand and power tools
• Precision measuring tools
• Pillar drills, grinders, and sanders
• Table, pipe, and wall saws
• Pipe benders and forming tools
• Hot air and propane gas torches
• Fork truck and overhead crane
