A little about Georgina Bayless…
I am currently Operations Manager for The Work Shop. I started out in 2012 as a Recruitment Consultant and then worked as Branch Manager – I’ve been here 11 years now!
I Previously did a short stint in IT Recruitment (found that it wasn’t for me!) and prior to that worked in Sales and Marketing for a large holiday resort in Southern Spain for 8 years.
How (and why) did you get into recruitment?
When we decided to move back to the UK, I put a lot of thought into what I wanted to do and as I love working with people and enjoy a fast paced environment and working towards targets I kept coming back to recruitment and it seems to have been a good idea!
What does your day-to-day role entail?
I oversee the smooth running of both branches, get involved in training and some HR but still am very much a hands-on recruiter, working with some really interesting and long-standing clients and managing a candidate talent pool. I also work with clients for individual career coaching sessions.
Are there any qualifications you may have – or working towards?
I have recently qualified as a licenced career coach. I have loved working with clients to help them realise their career aspirations or focus on their goals.
What do you like best about recruitment/your job?
So many things…!
That no two days are the same, getting to meet so many interesting and varied people at different stages of their career and learn about so many different businesses. After so many years I’m now starting to see some of the candidates I placed get into high level management and even become clients. I work with such a great team and love watching people come into the job and grow into the role.
And not work related…Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever met?
My Mum worked in the music business so I’ve been lucky to meet a few famous people over the years – stand out would be going to Kate Bush’s house and listening to her play her beautiful white grand piano.
