I am pleased to be working with an established, fast-paced company based near Southampton which is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their friendly team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant company with hybrid working flexibility.

The Payroll Specialist will have prior experience of processing both UK and Irish payrolls, and have also implemented system and process changes. Reporting directly to the Regional HR Partner, you will be a key contributor and primary point of contact for the employee lifecycle payroll processes for the UK.

Key duties include:
• Responsible for two payroll cycles using a managed service proposition process for circa 400 staff
• Providing excellent, first class customer service to our stakeholder and staff on all payroll processes and services
• Maintain controls, process, and audit functions to ensure all payroll and reporting processes are accurate and timely executed
• To assist internal and external auditors
• Working with 3rd party supplier payments
• Applied skills and knowledge in HMRC and UK legislation
• Administration of pensions and benefits linked to payroll and processes
• First point of contact for payroll queries of a technical and complex nature
• Working with our payroll provider on timely resolution of queries and problem solving
• Support local HR Partners with project and support when required

Suitable Candidate:
• Ability to take on the role with minimum support or supervision
• Strong UK payroll and benefits experience
• Attention to detail and dealing with fast paced, high volume workloads
• Able to travel between Southampton and Basingstoke offices on a regular basis
• Limited travel to Midlands, the North or to Europe as the HR and Payroll teams are based across the UK and EMEA so occasional requirement to travel outside of the South regions
• Applied experience in payroll, 3rd party suppliers and payroll projects
• Time Management is critical for this role
• Payroll qualification an advantage
• Assertive, great communicator and team player
• Project management an advantage

The hours are flexible, with the ability to work from home on 1-2 days a week too. The salary is in the region of £35-40k.
