The Work Shop is pleased to be working with a well-established company which is looking to recruit a Linux Database Administrator. This is an exciting opportunity to support the company’s continued growth.
This role would suit a skilled, dedicated, and ambitious Linux Database Administrator who has experience working with relational database management systems (RDBMS).

Main duties of the Linux Database Administrator:

• Develop and improve the existing database platforms and online infrastructure
• Be accountable for the implementation and monitoring of the company’s database platforms
• Provide scalable, high-performance database platforms that underpin the company’s services
• Work with the Infrastructure team to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting of project progress
• Manage project activity and balance this with support and administration tasks
• Ensure problems/issues are solved in a timely and satisfactory manner

Key Competencies of the Linux Database Administrator:

• Excellent Linux administration skills (Ubuntu and CentOS/RHEL are preferable) and substantial experience working in database roles.
• Detailed knowledge of Database Clustering & Replication.
• Understand and proactively plan software and infrastructure over a period of 3-5 years to meet both technical and business needs
• Good understanding of the TCP/IP stack, MariaDB, MySQL, Redis, Galera and MongoDB.
• Good familiarity with version control systems like Subversion/Git.
• Good knowledge of scripting in the Linux platform.
• Great interpersonal skills and attention to detail
• Vision, drive and passion

This is a full-time and permanent role offering an annual salary up to £55,000.00 dependant on experience. The hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30.
